The Survival of the Fittest

An apple tree gives around five hundred apples, each with ten seeds. We might think, "Why would you need so many seeds to grow just a few more trees?"

Nature has something to teach us here. It tells us: "Most seeds never grow. So if you really want to make something happen, you should better try more than once."

Darwin's theory of the Survival of the Fittest explains this-The individuals who best adapt to the environment are the ones who will most likely survive. They possess variations that give them a selective advantage.

This very well applies to our lives too. Simple instances in life:
  1. Need to attend as many interviews to get one good job.
  2. Need to interview forty people to find one good employee.
  3. Converse with many people to buy or sell a product.
  4. And you might meet a hundred acquaintances to find one special friend.
Laws of nature are not things to take personally. We just need to understand them - and work with them.

Successful people fail more often. They plant more seeds.
